Files maintained by Harold Holt while Treasurer, 1959-1965. The files contain correspondence, reports, itineraries, maps, Cabinet papers, speeches, notes, departmental minutes, publications, and newspaper cuttings. The files relate to a variety of topics including child endowment, the aged, overseas visits in 1965 to Jamaica (Commonwealth Economic Consultative Council) and Washington (International Monetary Fund and IBRD), irrigation projects and other development issues in Queensland (1962), the British American Parliamentary Group and the introduction of decimal currency to Australia. The major correspondents are Sir Wilfrid Kent Hughes and Sir Howard d'Egville. Other correspondents include Hugh S. Robertson, Frank Nicklin, Jim Killen, B.M.
